My cousins and I were on our way to spend a few days at Nemacolin Resort in Pennsylvania when the tire pressure light came on. It was obvious our tires needed air but were gage-less. So we pulled into a turnpike truck stop and eyed a Sonoco van with Quality Assurance painted on the side.
My cousin Jodie asked the driver for help and Bob, our future hero, jumped at the chance to help 6 ladies in distress. After putting the air in our tires, he said he had something else to share with us and asked if we would all form a circle. I was expecting a group hug. Instead, he brought in the spirit of Jesus and prayed for us, for our safe journey, for angels to surround our car and for us to be fully blessed. It was a totally surprising and wonderful experience on so many levels.
Next time you ask for help, try to remember that you just might get more than you asked for. In our case, we called in “Air and a Prayer.” If you try and do everything for yourself, you may miss out on the blessings that are available all around you. The best thing is, we are all pretty sure we made Bob’s day too.
Air and a Prayer
In the name of Jesus we pray for you girls
May you be safe and awake, blessed with diamonds and pearls
Strangers may be Jesus in human form
